Director of Sales
Ridge Valley Exteriors

Compensation: $85,000 base salary + quarterly performance incentives (On-Target Earnings up to $150,000)
Location: Preferred in Raleigh, NC
About the Director of Sales Role
Ridge Valley Exteriors is seeking an experienced, people-first Director of Sales to lead, coach, and develop our growing sales organization. This Director of Sales will be a hands-on leader who has personally succeeded selling home services in customers' homes and understands what it takes to build a high-performing team.
We're looking for a Director of Sales who enjoys being in the fieldโ€”not behind a desk. You'll spend time riding along with sales representatives, coaching in real time, improving performance, and creating a culture built on accountability, encouragement, and continuous development.
The ideal Director of Sales leads with warmth and humility. Rather than criticizing mistakes, they coach people through them, helping every team member grow into their full potential.
Director of Sales Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a residential home service sales team.
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs to provide hands-on coaching and performance feedback.
  • Create a positive, accountable sales culture focused on growth and continuous improvement.
  • Train sales representatives on in-home selling techniques, customer communication, and closing strategies.
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage pipeline visibility, reporting, and sales performance.
  • Monitor key sales metrics and implement strategies to improve results.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to drive revenue growth and achieve company goals.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development of sales professionals.
  • Serve as the primary Director of Sales responsible for elevating sales performance across all territories.
Director of Sales Qualifications
Required
  • Proven experience as a Director of Sales, Sales Manager, or other senior sales leadership role within residential home services.
  • Significant personal experience selling directly to homeowners in their homes.
  • Strong coaching and leadership abilities with a passion for developing others.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage sales processes and team performance.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time in the field with the sales team.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in roofing, restoration, exterior remodeling, or similar home service industries.
  • Experience using AccuLynx CRM/software.
  • A successful track record as a Director of Sales or senior sales leader building high-performing teams and improving sales results.
Candidates located between these service areas are encouraged to apply. This Director of Sales role requires extensive travel, and candidates outside our primary markets should be comfortable being a true road warrior with significant driving between teams and territories.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $85,000 annual base salary
  • Quarterly performance bonuses and incentives
  • On-target earnings up to $150,000

  • Company truck provided
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing organization
What Makes a Great Director of Sales
Success in this Director of Sales position comes from balancing high expectations with genuine support. We're looking for a leader who:
  • Leads with warmth, respect, and humility.
  • Coaches instead of criticizes.
  • Builds trust and earns the respect of their team.
  • Enjoys being in the field alongside salespeople.
  • Holds people accountable while helping them succeed.
  • Creates a culture where people grow, perform, and enjoy coming to work.
If you're an experienced Director of Sales who has excelled in residential home service sales, enjoys coaching others in the field, and wants to build an exceptional team at Ridge Valley Exteriors, we'd love to hear from you!
