Job description

Overview
The Assistant Director of Sales (On Site) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Sales in all aspects of revenue generation, focusing on the group segment. This individual will assist in the development of action plans, performance management, and the execution of direct sales processes. The position is also directly responsible for generating revenue from a defined market, industry and/or key accounts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Sales will assist in:
  • Building backlog and accelerating sales pace in the high-end group market.
  • Leading and managing sales segments to achieve and exceed budgeted group room nights and revenue goals.
  • Analyzing critical business/accounts and negotiating optimal revenue situations while ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Handling key accounts at the property level.
  • Spearheading the development of new group business through industry relationships and business intelligence.
  • Participating in sales presentations, key industry shows, property tours, and client meetings.
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of direct-sales action plans.
  • Assisting in the development of rates, group ceilings, and deployment strategies.
  • Establishing dominant positioning within defined competitive sets.
  • Assist the Sales Director in establishing group sales goals, forecasting group revenues, budgeting and management of sales office.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining logs for arrivals and sites.
  • Growing and maintaining a database of key clients.
  • Attending meetings as a representative of the Sales department.
  • Developing short and long-term goals for interpersonal development and departmental improvement.
  • Providing timely guest feedback to revenue leaders and operations.
  • Handling guest complaints and ensuring corrective action is taken.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure guest needs are met.
  • Handling incoming calls professionally, converting calls to bookings, and maximizing revenue.
  • Conducting pre-arrival calls and assisting guests with pre-arrival requests.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
  • Strategic thought leadership in hospitality sales and marketing.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong direct sales experience in developing new markets, especially those inclined towards luxury resorts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience and/or knowledge of the contracting process and negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Salesforce, Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, and preferably Opera.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Understanding of budgetary and fiscal responsibility within the department.
  • Familiarity with all operational areas of the resort.

Experience, Education, & Licensure:
  • College graduate or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a sales leader in a luxury resort property.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Opera PMS and Agency360 is desirable.

Compensation
Base Pay Start Rate: $125,000 - $175,000/Yr
