What is a digital analytics?

A Digital Analytics job involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from digital platforms to help businesses make informed decisions. Professionals in this field track user behavior, website performance, and marketing effectiveness using tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and data visualization software. Their insights help optimize digital experiences, improve marketing strategies, and drive business growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in digital analytics?

To thrive in Digital Analytics, you need strong analytical skills, experience with data interpretation, and a background in marketing, business, or a related quantitative field. Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Excel, and data visualization software, as well as certifications like Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ), are highly valued. What are some common challenges faced in a digital analytics role?

One common challenge in a Digital Analytics role is accurately attributing conversions and customer journeys across multiple digital channels, which often requires advanced tracking techniques and problem-solving. Professionals in this field frequently work with large datasets, which can be complex to clean and interpret, especially when aligning findings with broader business objectives. Staying updated on the latest analytics tools and changes in digital privacy regulations is also important for success. Collaborating closely with marketing, development, and product teams is typical, so strong communication and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations are key to overcoming these challenges.

Summary
This position has a base salary range of $104,000.00- $156,000.00 USD Annual. This range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.
Summary
This role is pivotal in advancing the Credit Union's digital strategy by driving data-informed decision-making and optimizing the performance of member-facing digital platforms. You will own the analytics strategy and roadmap, and deliver actionable insights that improve member experiences and support business growth. You will partner closely with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external vendors to define key metrics, establish governance standards, and ensure digital initiatives are aligned with enterprise objectives. The role requires a strong balance of strategic vision and hands-on analytics expertise, with a focus on high-quality reporting and measurable outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Own the digital data and analytics strategy and roadmap across all member-facing platforms, prioritizing initiatives and capabilities that align with enterprise goals and deliver measurable member experience and business outcomes.
  • Translate business objectives into clear KPIs and success measures, enabling measurement of digital performance, ROI and areas of variability.
  • Own the end-to-end digital analytics data ecosystem, including data capture, integration, documentation, lineage, access, governance and quality controls.
  • Define standards for how digital interactions are tracked, ensuring accurate and consistent measurement across platforms, vendors and member journeys.
  • Deliver executive-ready reporting, dashboards, and performance narratives, setting reporting and visualization standards with a focus on business impact over vanity metrics, and influencing strategic and executive decision-making through clear, compelling insights.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to digital experiences by identifying friction points and using data to influence optimization efforts.
  • Provide advanced analytics and member insights, including behavioral analysis, segmentation, and support for propensity and predictive models that enable next-best-action, targeted engagement and lifecycle growth strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and introduce emerging analytics technologies and methodologies, championing innovation such as advanced analytics, predictive modeling and AI-driven insights to advance organizational capability.
  • Mentor and develop analytics talent by establishing best practices, documentation, repeatable processes and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Data Science or Business Analytics, or have commensurate experience in a Data Analysis role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence, with 3 years of data governance/data management experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering strategic projects that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies for executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute analytics roadmaps, manage cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders.
  • Experience with digital channel analytics across web, mobile, online banking, onboarding and digital lending, including analysis of member behavior, funnels and journeys.
  • Proven experience working with third-party digital platforms and analytics vendors, including tool evaluation, data integration and optimization of vendor-provided analytics capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, DAX and data modeling concepts; experience with Python, R, ETL processes and exposure to AI/ML and predictive analytics.
  • Strong communicator with exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills; collaborative and adept at building relationships across diverse teams.
  • Prior experience in the credit union or financial services industry is preferred.
