OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Design Build Manager for our Data Center Division in Mount Pleasant, WI.

The Design Build Manager I is responsible for providing leadership of Alternative Delivery/Design Build projects and project pursuits with specific purpose to achieve outstanding results related to design selection, design subcontracting, design deliverables, project execution and Value Engineering. Capable of managing a team of DBC on projects/pursuits or segments of projects/pursuits up to $100M in project costs

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages design subcontract on project and leads design task force. Includes direct involvement with design managers, evaluating deliverables and directing outcomes to align with construction specifications.
  • Manages design and constructability reviews. Works with both engineers and construction personnel to evaluate design efficiency and constructability to meet the intended purpose and construction approach.
  • Manages and tracks design costs and schedule on a design-build project and works with engineers/designer to meet intended budget and schedule.
  • Coordinates the activities between designer and construction personnel during pursuit and the project design phase. Includes facilitating post-design phase review processes during construction with the Owner.
  • Develops cost saving strategies on design-build projects by reducing quantities and scope through design refinement, Equal or Better Changes, and VE's. Works with designer to establish an optimized design approach.
  • Works with Design and Construction personnel to evaluate, establish and implement Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) and develops strategy to gain owner approval.
  • Works with Estimating and Proposals to establish Win Plan for Design-Build Projects. Leads pursuit teams to coordinate needed results for responding to Requests for Proposals with particular focus on design-construction alignment.
  • Participates in Pink/Red/Gold Team reviews for Project.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in engineering or construction management,
  • Preferred: Professional Engineering License and related continuing education maintained, securing additional State licensure if required
  • At least 5 years of applicable experience in the construction industry with 3 years of Design-Build Management experience

  • At least 5 years of Design / Management experience within a design-build project delivery model and 3 years in the construction industry on Design Build Projects
