The Organizational Design Manager leads, manages, and/or contributes to enterprise-wide organizational design and workforce planning initiatives that support Generac's strategic priorities, operating model evolution, and organizational effectiveness goals. This role partners closely with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional Human Resources teams to diagnose organizational challenges and design scalable, data-informed solutions that enable performance, growth, and sustained change.
This position is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of organizational models, tools, and insights that:
• Enable clear accountability, effective decision-making, and efficient operating structures
• Aligning workforce capacity, capabilities, and structure to current and future business needs
• Support large-scale transformations and strategic change initiatives
• Provide leaders with actionable insights to drive organization and talent outcomes
This role delivers organizational design and workforce planning solutions at the enterprise and business-unit level, with impact across global functions. The Organizational Design Manager owns key design methodologies, analytical frameworks, and tools used to assess and evolve organizational structures. This role contributes to enterprise workforce and organizational planning decisions and may support initiatives within established departmental budgets.
Major Responsibilities
Strategic Design & Execution
  • Lead and execute end-to-end org design projects, from diagnosis to implementation.
  • Model future-state org structures. Conduct spans and layers analysis, org health diagnostics, and workforce sizing.
  • Conduct assessments of current organizational models to identify gaps or inefficiencies.
  • Translate strategic goals into operational organizational models.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to realign departments, roles, and workflows as needed.

Data & Tools
  • Build and maintain org design tools, templates, and dashboards.
  • Conduct data analysis on structures, reporting lines, and workforce planning metrics.
  • Work directly in HRIS and design systems (e.g., Workday).

Workforce Planning
  • Analyze current and future workforce needs and structure accordingly.
  • Support talent management and succession planning with design insights.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field or relevant experience

Work Experience
  • 5 years of experience in organization design, HR analytics, or transformation
