Job description

Company Overview:

MP Materials (NYSE: MP) is rebuilding American industrial capability for a new era of autonomy, robotics, and electrification.

We are the only U.S. company with a fully integrated rare earth supply chain—from mining and refining to advanced metal and magnet manufacturing. Our products include both the critical materials used to make permanent magnets and the finished magnets themselves—enabling next-generation technologies in robotics, automation, aerospace, transportation, defense, and energy systems. These materials are the foundation of physical AI—the convergence of computation, movement, and control.

We hire ambitious, mission-driven people who want to tackle complex challenges and shape the future of strategic industries. Our culture is rooted in teamwork, resiliency, and integrity, with a deep commitment to operational excellence and national purpose. MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer—and our people are driving that transformation.

Position Overview:

The Learning & Development (L&D) Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization's learning and development strategy through data analysis, learning technology administration, and training operations. This position is responsible for collecting and analyzing learning data, developing dashboards and reports, maintaining learning systems, and coordinating training programs that enable employee growth and organizational performance. The L&D Analyst provides actionable insights that measure training effectiveness, improve the learner experience, and support data-driven decision making. The role also administers Learning Management System (LMS) activities, coordinates onboarding and training logistics, maintains learning records, and serves as a resource for employees on learning programs and technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret training data to measure program effectiveness and identify trends.
  • Build dashboards and reports that provide insights to the L&D team, HR partners and business leaders.
  • Track key learning metrics such as attendance, completion rates, assessment scores, progress trends and feedback results.
  • Support evaluation efforts (pre & post training self-evaluations, pre & post training manager evaluations, post-training surveys, learning effectiveness assessments, ROI insights).
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all learning systems.
  • Coordinate logistics for training programs, workshops and virtual learning events (scheduling, invitations, room setup, materials, communications).
  • Maintain L&D calendars & project trackers.
  • Provide administrative support for new hire onboarding classes, including account creations, scheduling as needed classes and maintaining onboarding schedules.
  • Assist with employee inquiries related to training offerings, learning platforms, and program requirements.
  • Support Learning Management System (LMS) operations, including course setup, assignments, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in maintaining user data, learning paths, certifications, and compliance records.
  • Assist with uploading, testing, and updating eLearning modules and digital content.
  • Provide support, along with others on the team, with user access issues and coordinate with IT or vendors as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance the learner experience and L&D operations.
  • Collaborate with L&D team members to support project initiatives, content updates and program enhancements.
  • Stay current on industry best practices in L&D data analytics, and learning technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in learning analytics or a related support role.
  • Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting training data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Power Query, formulas, dashboards).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau for dashboard development preferred.
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience supporting training events, onboarding, or employee development programs.

Desired Qualities:

  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification or comparable data analytics credential.
  • Bilingual (if applicable to workforce).
