Job description


POSITION PURPOSE

  • The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting and enhancing learning and development programs across Reddy Ice. This position serves as a key resource for learning administration, instructional design, learning technology support, training facilitation, onboarding coordination, and training event management. The role partners closely with the Learning & Development Manager, HR Business Partners, subject matter experts, and business leaders to deliver engaging and effective learning solutions that support employee growth and business objectives.
  • Demonstrates our "True North" attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no-nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership, and a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of daily interaction. Actively supports continuous improvement initiatives and partners with stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance the learner experience and learning effectiveness.
  • This position is based at the Reddy Ice Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas, with the opportunity to work remotely one day per week.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Learning Management System Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Learning Management Systems, including Workday Learning and Percipio (Skillsoft).
  • Manage user accounts, course assignments, learning paths, certifications, curricula, and reporting.
  • Monitor training completion, compliance records, and learning activity.
  • Maintain onboarding learning paths and training assignments.
  • Maintain accurate learning records and ensure data integrity.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business and compliance needs.

Customer Support

  • Provide exceptional customer service while responding to employee and manager inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot learning system access, enrollments, transcripts, assignments, and completion issues.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.

Training Development & Instructional Design

  • Create, edit, and maintain instructor-led, virtual or in-person, blended, and eLearning content.
  • Update and develop eLearning courses using Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise360.
  • Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, quick reference guides, and assessments.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to convert business processes, policies, and procedures into effective learning experiences.
  • Apply adult learning theory and instructional design best practices to maximize learner engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Ensure learning materials are accurate, visually appealing, and aligned with organizational standards.

Training Facilitation

  • Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person instructor-led training sessions using Microsoft Teams.
  • Deliver training on onboarding, performance management, leadership development, professional skills, compliance topics, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Encourage learner participation through interactive activities, discussions, and knowledge checks.

Learning Program Administration & Event Management

  • Coordinate logistics for training programs, workshops, leadership development programs, and special learning events.
  • Schedule training sessions, reserve meeting space, manage attendee registrations, distribute communications, and prepare training materials.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person learning events, including technology setup, facilitator support, and follow-up activities.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, invoices, training rosters, attendance tracking, and program documentation.
  • Stay current on learning technologies, instructional design trends, and adult learning principles.
  • Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, Human Resources, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System.
  • Experience facilitating virtual instructor-led training programs.
  • Experience developing or editing eLearning content.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding and learning programs preferred.
  • Experience within a corporate Learning & Development or Human Resources function preferred.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, distribution, or field-based environments preferred.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems; Workday Learning experience preferred.
  • Experience with Percipio (Skillsoft) preferred.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Typical office environment, generally sedentary position using computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. This position works in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.
  • The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential.
  • May require flexibility to support training events, onboarding activities, and business needs outside normal working hours on occasion.
  • Position is based in the Reddy Ice Corporate Office in Dallas, Texas.
  • May be required to travel occasionally to facilitate training programs and support learning initiatives (less than 10% travel).
