The Region Vice President of Contract Sales is a senior sales leader responsible for regional contract sales performance across Local Contract Customer (LCC), Corporate Multi Unit (CMU), and bid business. This role leads Regional Contract Managers, New Business Development, Contract Sales Consultants, and bid sales resources to grow profitable revenue, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market share through disciplined pipeline management and contract negotiation.

As a member of the region senior sales leadership team, the RVPCS partners closely with the Region President and cross-functional leaders to set strategy, align priorities, and execute initiatives that accelerate new business acquisition, retention, and customer penetration-while ensuring compliance with pricing, contracting, and approval requirements.

The Region Vice President of Contract Sales is a member of the senior region sales leadership team. This position will be included in all strategic planning, decisions, and execution as it pertains to region contract sales and new business acquisitions.

Duties and responsibilities

Lead Regional Contract Managers, New Business Developers, Contract Sales Consultants, and Bid colleagues to grow local customers and deliver the agreed upon financial plan. Provide coaching, training, performance management, and feedback to improve colleague performance, grow lines, and drive profitability. Facilitate collaborative team selling culture to maximize sales; focus on engaging Sysco Specialty companies to fully penetrate customer accounts

Develop medium to long-term sales plans and prepare strategies to protect, grow and diversify the relationship with existing, targeted customers. Facilitate collaborative team selling culture to maximize sales; focus on engaging Sysco Specialty companies to fully penetrate customer accounts

Establish strategy for driving profitable new customer growth, with guidance from Region President, to define the long term strategic new business development goals.

Collaborate with Customer Experience Market functions to ensure account team-based approach to sales and service execution for contract and bid customers. Leverage advanced analytics and customer insights to prioritize business opportunities within the region

Support face-to-face and remote sales to new customers and cross/up/repeat sales to existing customers. Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and/or solutions. Support sales bids/proposals/presentations and provide guidance and approval for all customer MSAs

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

10+ years of progressive experience working in a Sales, Operating Company or multi-function leadership role at Sysco or similar operating experience in other industries.

Preferred

4 year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts, Finance, Accounting or related field

5+ years of experience in a Contract Sales leadership role within foodservice distribution

Skills and abilities

  • Ability to manage and motivate a market sales organization focused on growing contract sales revenue

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data

  • Business and foodservice operations acumen to define strategic sales approach for sophisticated customers

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and influence a variety of key stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time

  • Fluent in and/or ability to learn the use of proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth

  • Working knowledge of Sysco front and back end technology systems

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite of Applications

  • Demonstrated complex initiative implementation skills, including the ability to lead and inspire through change
