Position Summary
A Project Management Office (PMO) Manager is responsible for supervising a subset of the project management office project managers, assisting the project managers in their professional development, and ensuring their projects align with PMO standards and organizational objectives. This role supports the development of project management capabilities within the team while contributing to continuous improvement of PMO processes, tools, and methodologies.
About The Team
The PMO Manager will have direct oversight of a team of project managers within the PMO who support the implementation of enterprise impacting projects primarily in our Enterprise Technology Operations and Security spaces. The role will report directly to the VP of PMO and will work alongside other leaders within the PMO to both add value to the work completed by the project managers within the PMO and add value to the organization through the existence of the PMO.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Leads coaching and mentoring of project managers to build capabilities and promote best practices. Supports a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.

  • Provides tactical leadership and contributes to PMO operational planning within the PMO Leadership team.

  • Directly manage project managers, supporting their performance, development, and delivery success.

  • Conduct project reviews and quality checks to ensure alignment with PMO standards.

  • Assist in aligning projects with organizational priorities and strategic goals.

  • Ensure effective PMO resource allocation based on business needs.

  • Fosters collaboration and secure stakeholder buy-in from technology partners and business partners.

  • Oversee resource planning (people, timelines, budgets) at the project level and help resolve conflicts.

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of PMO methodologies, templates, and tools.

  • Support implementation and adoption of PMO-related technologies and systems.

  • Participate in PMO and organizational programs (e.g., communities of practice, training initiatives).

Primary Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience

  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, demonstrating expertise in project management methodologies preferred, equivalent experience accepted.

  • Minimum 5 years of project management or like experience

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
