Senior Project Cargo specialists are logistics professionals who oversee the transportation and handling of large, heavy, or complex cargo, often for major industrial projects. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the safe and efficient movement of oversized or high-value items, such as machinery, construction materials, or energy equipment. Their role requires extensive experience in logistics, knowledge of international shipping regulations, and strong project management skills. Senior Project Cargo specialists work closely with clients, carriers, and regulatory authorities to ensure all aspects of the cargo movement comply with safety and legal requirements.

To thrive as a Senior Project Cargo specialist, you need in-depth knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, project management, and international trade regulations, often supported by a degree in logistics or supply chain management. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), Incoterms, and specialized cargo handling equipment is typically required. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills help manage complex shipments and coordinate diverse teams. These abilities ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of oversized or high-value cargo for large-scale projects.
