What we are looking for

We are a growing organization seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Vice President / Project Executive (VP/PX) to lead and expand our presence in the San Diego market. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving regional growth, cultivating strong client relationships, and leading high-performing teams, with a focus on the Education and Healthcare sectors. The ideal candidate will bring strong local relationships, a strategic mindset, and the ability to both win work and successfully deliver it while growing the business from both a client and team perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and grow the San Diego regional business unit with full P&L responsibility
  • Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives aligned with company objectives
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align regional and company-wide goals
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including early-stage client engagement

Operations & Project Oversight

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout
  • Ensure compliance with DSA regulations and requirements
  • Drive performance related to schedule, budget, safety, and quality
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks
  • Implement best practices, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and consistency

Business Development

  • Lead and support pursuit strategies, including RFQs, RFPs, and client interviews
  • Drive business development efforts within the Education and Healthcare markets


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in construction operations, preconstruction, or business development
  • Proven leadership experience within the AEC or related industry
  • Strong understanding of Education and/or Healthcare construction sectors
  • Demonstrated success in business development and revenue growth
  • Experience building and scaling teams and operations
  • Established network and presence in the San Diego market
  • Proven track record of securing work through RFQs/RFPs and relationship-based pursuits
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow a business
  • Valid driver's license


Compensation

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $175,000/year - $250,000/year (based on experience)
