Job description


We are seeking an experienced, motivated contractor to provide high-level web content management support. The support would allow the three-person team to continue to produce quality work, while meeting the marketing, internal/external communications, and other needs of five divisions and internal departments.The demand for communications and marketing and the agency's use of data to inform decisions have increased significantly. Additional support would allow for better focus and alignment, improved customer service and a consistent web presence across the enterprise.
Needs
Contractor (single point-of-contact) for the development and management of webpage content, design, layout, and scheme for agency and/or division sites. Contractor would work with IT and Communications staff (and divisions) to ensure consistent, accurate and professional content and design. This position is critical to ensuring that the current website/webpages remain relevant, up-to-date, and aesthetically friendly.
Duties/Functions
Contractor also would use/rely on SiteImprove software and Google Analytics to track and monitor website content and work with Communications/IT to provide updates and reduce errors, such as missing information, broken links and non-functioning PDFs; perform audits outside of site improvement functions, including identifying inaccurate information, incorrect photos, outdated pages and/or content, etc.A key function also would be to work with Communications to ensure content aligns with strategic goals and agency's vision and mission. Other responsibilities are as follow:
โ€ข Work with Communications/IT to coordinate web projects across divisions
โ€ข Collaborate with division staff/Communications on content development, including videos, podcasts, design projects
โ€ข Track and report on all site metrics
โ€ข Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, listservs, and events
โ€ข Assure web-based information is archived for future needs and reference
Goals:
A primary goal would be to collaborate with the Communications team to develop a comprehensive online/website improvement plan/strategy.
A secondary goal would be to meet 80% accuracy (for website/webpages) rate by fiscal year end and 95 percent accuracy by fiscal year end 2022. Contractor would work with Communications and content editors to identify and determine web pages to delete or merge and institute a quarterly auditing and review process that improves accuracy and up-to-date website content.This process would prepare divisions/staff for a future website redesign.Additionally, the contractor would work with Communications and IT to revamp/redesign website/webpages. This is TBD, following an assessment of site and the identification of goals.
