Posting Number 00932 Position Title Student Assistant - Conference Services Department Conference Services Position Summary

The Student Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting in the daily operation of setting up and taking down equipment (tables, chairs, staging), as well as providing audio/visual assistance for events, and for oversight of the event.

Education/Experience

Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially. Experience using and setting up audio/visual equipment, as well as various types of multimedia, including laptops, PC's, MAC's, projectors, etc. preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Must be reliable.

Punctuality and self-motivation are essential

Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties

Must be flexible with a professional and optimistic attitude

Positive SU spokesperson at all times

Must be dependable and reliable, a team player

Excellent customer service skills.

Excellent organizational, project management, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong eye for detail.

Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements

Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, pushing, stooping, keyboarding, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. Visual acuity to read/interpret room setup and AV/computer setup. Position requires non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.

Essential Functions

Set up room for event.

Move tables and chairs and set up according to room set up diagram.

Set up audio/visual equipment.

Inventory equipment

Providing customer service to internal & external clients.

Work events as scheduled.
