Total Compensation

  • Salary: Salary range begins at $44,000

About the Position
Reporting to the Head Coach for Men's Lacrosse, the Assistant Coach carries responsibility for all aspects of a competitive Division III men's lacrosse program while adhering to all NCAA, Centennial Conference, and College rules. The Assistant Coach assists with planning and executing all practices, coaches on game days, recruits qualified student athletes, participates in fundraising efforts, and performs any additional duties that may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in administrative tasks including equipment management, travel, and the recruitment of student athletes who meet both the academic and athletic standards of Haverford College (at least 75% of time)
  • Develop and prepare student athletes for practice and games under the supervision of the head coach
  • Enforce departmental policies and team rules as to travel and conduct both on and off the field
  • Maintain liaison with college and athletic administrators, trainers, and Director of Athletic Communications as appropriate for an assistant coach
  • Adhere to all regulations of Haverford College, the Centennial Conference, and the NCAA
  • Exercise discretion and judgment in decision making in keeping with College, Conference, and NCAA regulations
  • Represent Haverford at all times in a professional manner including dealings with officials and opposing coaches

Line of Report: The Assistant Coach - Men's Lacrosse reports to the Head Coach - Men's Lacrosse.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

Professional Competencies

  • College or high school coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Experience working with college student athletes
