Description and Requirements
General Description: Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Sales Compensation practices across assigned region. Play a key role for the region's Producers. Work closely with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate producer commission accounting. Includes finance, producers, regional management, National Accounting Center, and regional HR/payroll.
Responsibilities:
• Work with producers to explain production statements and true ups. Resolve complex commission issues.
• Review accuracy of transactions entered by Accounting Center and loaded from other source systems. Includes quarterly commission true ups and commission rates.
• Ensure accuracy of HR data; review actual results trend to forecasted trend.
• Review producer compensation calculations.
• Analyze data for Operating Company/Region on a monthly or ad-hoc basis. Includes commission payment and outside broker expenses.
• Contact carrier commission departments to identify and collect missing revenue.
• Monitor producer draw payments. Ensure alignment with actual commission being generated. Coordinate changes to producer draws as necessary.
• Maintain files of employment agreements and compensation acknowledgements. Ensure contractual language is consistent with the application of commissions.
• Monitor and process chargebacks for value-added services and charitable contributions. Participate in the design of a new process with new systems.
• Manage outside brokers expenses, including coordinating payments to outside brokers.
• Track and process new business referrals and referral compensation payments.
• Serve as key contributor in the process of designing new producer commission reports.
• Identify opportunities for corporate production systems. Includes Sagitta/Report Writer, CRM, and the Datastore.
• Review and reconcile producer payables.
• Manage minimum revenue thresholds pertaining to producer commission payments.
• Monitor and perform entries for producer funding.
• Collaborate with Corporate Finance/IT department to continually improve data flows, reporting systems, and analysis.
• Complete monthly financial close and reporting. Includes producer compensation, audits and charge backs, and preparation of management reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 3 years + experience in accounting or finance. Experience in the insurance field a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
• Ability to work with all levels of staff and management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal direction.
• Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility with changing priorities.
• Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel.
