Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an onsite role and is not open to remote or hybrid work.
The Retail Planning Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of retail development initiatives for new and existing Bass Pro Shops and affiliated retail locations. This position plays a key role in managing the procurement, design coordination, scheduling, and installation of store fixtures, signage, and related retail components. The role partners closely with internal departments, external vendors, contractors, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with company standards and brand expectations.
This position supports companywide operation programs related to fixture and signage rollouts, seasonal retail initiatives, and the coordination of taxidermy and artifact acquisition, distribution, and installation processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage and coordinate fixture and signage procurement activities for new and existing stores, remodels, retrofits, and special retail initiatives across the company.
  • Coordinate with designers, vendors, contractors, and internal business partners to ensure fixture and signage packages meet operational, branding, and construction requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of project budgets, Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs), purchase orders, invoices, and financial tracking documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, including permitting, contract status, shipping schedules, and installation timelines to support successful project completion.
  • Review architectural drawings, fixture plans, and signage layouts to verify sizing, placement, and design intent.
  • Utilize Photoshop and related software tools to assist with signage scaling, renderings, and visual planning support.
  • Support the planning and execution of seasonal and promotional initiatives, including programs such as Santa's Wonderland, Easter events, and other companywide retail activations.
  • Oversee the operational processes related to taxidermy and artifact acquisitions, donations, inventory tracking, and store distribution.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure alignment on project expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail planning, construction coordination, project management, fixture procurement, signage coordination, or a related environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-location retail projects and coordinating with external vendors and contractors preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated follow-through and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, CAD, Bluebeam, or similar design and construction software preferred.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, fixture plans, and signage packages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships across departments and with external business partners.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: (Provide travel expectations for this role)
  • Moderate travel required, approximately 30-40%, to support store visits, fixture installations, vendor meetings, and project coordination activities.
