Position Summary:

Leads endtoend forecasting, demand management, and purchasing activities for assigned product groups across both domestic and international suppliers. This role ensures optimal inventory levels and a highly efficient supply chain by overseeing demand forecasting, inventory planning, and purchasing execution. The manager drives initiatives that strengthen service levels, improve inventory turns, and enhance supplier performance while partnering closely with crossfunctional teams and external suppliers.

  • Manage Demand Planning – Develop, adjust, and oversee demand forecasts for both promotional demand and standard demand. Collaborating with product, sales, and promotional teams.
  • Coordinate Promotional Planning – Work with internal teams and suppliers to assess promotional demand, load requirements and ensure suppliers can meet delivery requirements.
  • Optimize Inventory & Replenishment – Establish and maintain replenishment parameters, including lead times, order quantities, and safety stock levels, to balance service levels and inventory turns
  • Issue & Manage Purchase and Plant Transfer Orders – Oversee the release of planned and firm orders to assigned suppliers, ensuring timely execution and alignment with demand plans.
  • Monitor & Improve Performance – Track inventory and service level metrics, identify performance gaps, report exceptions, and implement corrective actions to optimize supply chain efficiency
  • Lead & Develop Team – Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners and buyers, fostering strong analytical capabilities and continuous improvement.

  • BS/BA in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field with a strong analytical background.  Knowledge of business principles and issues.   MBA a plus.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply chain management, inventory management, procurement or 10 years of experience within an adjacent field.
  • Proven experience in forecasting, inventory optimization, and supplier collaboration within manufacturing, distribution, or retail environments.

  • Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and demand planning/forecasting tools. Familiarity with Infor SSA LN, SAP ERP, and Blue Yonder is preferred.

  • APICS certification, AI implementation experience (Copilot, Claude, Grok, Etc.) and data query and manipulation skills (Excel, MS Access, and MS Power BI) are strongly preferred.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher would be beneficial. Working knowledge of product lifecycle management would also be beneficial.
