Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate for a front-office coverage role to join the growing Industrials team within Citi's Commercial Banking team. The Associate will receive a strong foundation of knowledge and training, gain real-world experience and add immediate value to the team. This is an opportunity to support new business development, as well as day-to-day management of existing relationships. Candidate will gain significant experience in debt, equity and the various financial solutions across Citi's global network including cash management, rates and FX. The Associate Program strives to bring in the best and brightest talent to develop into the next generation of commercial banking leaders.
Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Execution: Act as a primary contributor and reviewer in all facets of deal execution, including in-depth financial analysis, complex financial modeling, risk analysis, and due diligence for credit extensions to new and existing clients.
  • Client & Partner Interaction: Support senior bankers in managing client relationships and interact with various internal partners, including Loan Structuring & Syndications, Commodities, Treasury & Trade Services, and various operations functions to deliver integrated financial solutions.
  • Industry Analysis: Conduct detailed company research and industry analysis to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities within the Industrials vertical across multiple sub-sectors including: Aerospace & Defense, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Transportation & Logistics, Mobility and Industrials Disruptors.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Commercial banking experience with proficient knowledge of banking products
  • Knowledge of accounting, finance and credit
  • Ability to work effectively in team setting
  • Relationship management experience
  • Excellent analytical and cash-flow modeling skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Quality analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Must be able to secure and/or maintain SIE, 63 and 79 securities licenses within 150 days of joining
