Eaton Electrical Sector Americas Commercial & North American Sales (NAS/MCO) is seeking a Vice President, Commercial Finance in Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation is offered for those outside a 50-mile radius of Pittsburgh, Ohio.
The Vice President, Commercial Finance serves as the senior finance leader supporting Eaton's North American Sales (NAS) organization and Commercial Operations (MCO). Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, North American Sales, with a functional reporting relationship to the Vice President, Finance, Electrical Sector Americas, this executive will act as a strategic business partner to the commercial leadership team.
The role is responsible for providing financial leadership across Eaton's Electrical Sector Americas commercial organization, driving profitable growth, market expansion, pricing excellence, customer profitability, commercial effectiveness, and strategic investment decisions. As a key member of both the Electrical Americas Finance Leadership Team and the North American Sales Leadership Team, this leader will shape commercial strategy, optimize business performance, and ensure alignment between growth objectives, customer outcomes, and shareholder value creation.
Position Responsibilities
The Vice President, Commercial Finance will lead the commercial finance organization supporting North American Sales and Commercial Operations, providing strategic counsel and decision support across the commercial enterprise.
This leader will develop and execute financial strategies that accelerate profitable growth, improve pricing and margin performance, optimize commercial investments, and enhance sales productivity. Leveraging advanced analytics and actionable business insights, the Vice President will influence enterprise decision-making, identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and improve planning and forecasting capabilities.
Additionally, the role will ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), while fostering a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $203000 - $297000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary finance partner and trusted advisor to North American Sales and Commercial Operations leadership.
• Influence strategic and operational decisions that drive growth, profitability, and market share expansion.
• Lead commercial forecasting, annual operating planning, long-range strategic planning, and business performance management processes.
• Drive pricing governance, margin enhancement initiatives, customer profitability analysis, and optimization of commercial investments.
• Provide financial leadership on strategic customer negotiations, contract reviews, rebate programs, incentive structures, and complex deal economics.
• Establish and enhance commercial performance metrics, analytics, and dashboards to improve sales effectiveness, productivity, and return on commercial investments.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Operations, and Segment Finance leaders to evaluate growth opportunities, assess market trends, and manage business risks.
• Strengthen commercial decision-making through data-driven insights and financial analysis.
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing commercial finance organization while elevating financial acumen across the commercial leadership team.
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance, governance, and risk management practices while maintaining a growth-oriented business partnership mindset.
• Support enterprise transformation initiatives that enhance commercial capabilities, operating performance, and customer value creation.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA, CPA, CMA, or other advanced business or financial credentials.
• Significant experience supporting commercial, sales, go-to-market, or customer-facing organizations within a large, complex, global enterprise.
• Deep expertise in commercial finance disciplines, including pricing strategy, customer profitability, forecasting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), commercial investment management, and margin optimization.
• Proven track record of influencing business strategy and driving profitable growth through financial leadership, analytics, and strategic decision support.
• Experience serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing counsel on commercial performance, growth strategy, capital allocation, and business transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of sales channels, customer segmentation, contract and deal economics, incentive compensation programs, pricing governance, and commercial effectiveness metrics.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise planning processes, including annual operating plans, strategic plans, forecasting cycles, and performance reviews.
• Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing finance organizations, including talent development, succession planning, and organizational capability enhancement.
• Exceptional business acumen with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Proven ability to influence a matrixed organization, drive change, and achieve alignment among diverse stakeholder groups.
• Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills, with experience leveraging business intelligence and data analytics to improve business outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance requirements, risk management practices, and GAAP.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to senior business leaders.
