Job Summary:
Cristcot is seeking a strategic, hands-on, and collaborative leader to serve as Vice President, Commercial Operations. This executive will play a critical role in building and leading the commercial operations infrastructure required to support launch readiness, operational excellence, and long-term commercial growth.
The ideal candidate brings deep biopharma commercial operations expertise, successful launch experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This leader must be equally comfortable operating strategically and executing tactically while partnering cross-functionally across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Compliance, and Supply Chain. This is a highly visible leadership role with significant influence on commercial strategy, execution, and organizational readiness.
Primary Relationships:
  • Within Cristcot, the Vice President, Commercial Operations will collaborate closely with all commercial functions, IT, Finance, Compliance, Legal and Human Resources.
  • Outside Cristcot, the Vice President, Commercial Operations will build strategic relationships with third party vendors.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Vice President, Commercial Operations will serve as a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team and will lead the development and execution of commercial operations strategy and infrastructure across the organization. This role is responsible for establishing scalable capabilities that support launch excellence, field effectiveness, analytics and forecasting, incentive compensation, CRM and data systems, market insights, and operational planning.
The activities of the Vice President, Commercial Operations will include, but are not limited to:
Commercial Strategy & Launch Excellence
  • Lead the development and execution of the commercial operations strategy aligned with corporate and commercial objectives.
  • Build and operationalize launch readiness plans to support the company's first and future product launches.
  • Partner with Commercial leadership to support annual brand planning, strategic planning, and long-range commercial forecasting.
  • Ensure operational readiness across sales, marketing, market access, patient services, and analytics functions.
  • Establish scalable infrastructure, processes, governance, and KPIs to support commercial growth.

Commercial Operations & Field Effectiveness
  • Design and optimize field force infrastructure including territory alignment, targeting, call planning, deployment strategy, and performance management.
  • Lead incentive compensation design and administration while ensuring compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee CRM systems, commercial platforms, dashboards, and reporting tools to support field execution and customer engagement.
  • Develop sales enablement capabilities and operational processes to maximize field effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership on resource allocation, field execution, and business performance optimization.

Analytics, Forecasting & Market Insights
  • Build and lead commercial analytics capabilities including forecasting, market research, competitive intelligence, and performance reporting.
  • Develop actionable insights through integration of CRM, claims, specialty pharmacy, market access, and third-party data sources.
  • Establish executive dashboards and reporting processes to support data-driven decision making.
  • Lead commercial forecasting activities including demand planning, revenue projections, scenario planning, and long-range forecasts.
  • Translate market trends and customer insights into strategic recommendations for leadership.

Commercial Systems & Data Strategy
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of commercial systems and technologies, including CRM, data warehouses, analytics platforms, and digital engagement tools.
  • Partner with IT and external vendors to establish a compliant and scalable Commercial Data Environment (CDE).
  • Ensure strong data governance, operational efficiency, and business continuity across commercial systems and processes.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, HR, and Supply Chain to ensure aligned commercial execution.
  • Support Board of Director and Executive Leadership reporting through development of commercial updates, business reviews, and strategic analyses.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing commercial operations organization and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Compliance & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure all commercial operations activities comply with applicable healthcare regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Lead vendor management activities related to analytics, CRM, incentive compensation, market research, and field operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commercial efficiency, scalability, and execution.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, PharmD, MPH, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or specialty healthcare organizations.
  • Minimum 7+ years of leadership experience within commercial operations, sales operations, analytics, or related commercial functions.
  • Proven experience supporting successful product launches, preferably within specialty pharma, rare disease, oncology, immunology, or other specialty markets.
  • Experience building commercial infrastructure and capabilities within emerging biotech or high-growth organizations strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise across commercial operations disciplines including:
    • Forecasting and analytics
    • Sales operations and field effectiveness
    • CRM systems and commercial technologies
    • Incentive compensation
    • Market research and competitive intelligence
    • Launch excellence and operational readiness
  • Strong understanding of the biopharma commercialization process and healthcare compliance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and rapid-growth environments.
