The Role

We are seeking a highly analytical Collections Analyst to support our Credit Card Collections Operations team. This role is responsible for translating complex business requirements into actionable data insights that directly influence collections strategy, risk management, and profitability outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and coding skills with a solid understanding of credit risk dynamics and financial performance. This individual will independently extract and analyze data to inform strategy decisions, measure test vs. control experiments, and evaluate the financial impact of collections initiatives.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex and sometimes ambiguous business questions into structured analytical frameworks and data queries
  • Independently write, optimize, and validate queries to extract and analyze large datasets
  • Develop insights that support collections strategy, risk mitigation, and profitability optimization
  • Analyze portfolio performance, roll rates, recoveries, and other key risk indicators to inform financial decision-making
  • Measure and monitor test vs. control experiments to evaluate treatment effectiveness and financial impact
  • Build recurring and ad-hoc reporting to monitor key operational, risk, and financial metrics
  • Clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to leadership stakeholders
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across reporting and analysis

Qualifications

  • Moderate experience in credit card collections, consumer credit risk, or related financial operations
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently code and build complex queries (e.g., SQL or similar tools)
  • Working knowledge of credit risk concepts, portfolio performance metrics, and financial drivers of profitability
  • Experience supporting strategy decisions through structured analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment

Education

  • Strong preference for a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field
