Description:
Mativ is currently searching for a Maintenance Supervisor with a strong maintenance background to partner with and support the Munising Mill’s Maintenance team.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to initiate, manage and prioritize multiple projects while performing normal daily tasks and activities. To be successful this person must be a very structured, disciplined, and skillful individual who approaches and completes work with strong attention to detail and follow-through. The position requires a communication style that is matter-of-fact, direct, and factual. The incoming candidate must be able to work well with a broad spectrum of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Exercise personal leadership to provide an environment that puts a priority on providing a safe and healthy workplace for employees and conforms to applicable local, state, and federal codes and laws governing loss control.
  • Oversee all maintenance activities and the successful execution of the EAM Oracle work order system.
  • Provide work direction for Maintenance Planners, skilled trades group and Maintenance Specialist to maximize efficiency in the department.
  • Support capital projects, maximize mill asset reliability, plan and schedule all maintenance downs and support all cost reduction programs. 
  • Stay abreast of mill operating schedules, manpower needs, new equipment installations, upcoming shutdowns and equipment issues to help coordinate activities for cost efficient repairs within time constraints.
  • Oversee all new preventative maintenance requirements and periodically examine existing programs to eliminate redundancies, making programs more effective and efficient.
  • Conduct morning meetings with tradesmen to give work direction and discuss any       concerns daily.
  • Problem solve new and repetitive failures on machines and implement solutions to reduce asset down time and maintenance cost.
  • Willingness to serve as a weekend rotating support supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Maintenance related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to efficiently and accurately process a high volume of detailed workload.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment a distinct plus
