Join our Team as a Coding Quality Coordinator I
Are you detail-oriented and passionate about accuracy, data integrity, and improving patient outcomes? We're looking for a compassionate, caring, and dedicated Coding Quality Coordinator I to join our team and help us continue our tradition of excellence.
In this role, you'll support the Trauma Services Department by ensuring accurate collection, completion, and verification of patient data within the Trauma Registry. Your work will play a critical role in quality assurance and performance improvement efforts by maintaining high-quality clinical and statistical data used for reporting, compliance, and clinical outcomes.
What You'll Do:
  • Collect, complete, and verify accuracy of patient data from hospital systems and the Trauma Registry.
    • Maintain clinical and statistical data, including AIS coding, ICD-10-CM coding, and required data abstraction.
    • Ensure compliance with standards from The American College of Surgeons, state reporting requirements (Illinois and Indiana), the Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), and hospital guidelines.
    • Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within Trauma Services.
    • Collaborate with the Trauma Program Manager to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
    • Learn and become proficient in role responsibilities within the expected training period.

Education & Experience:
  • Completion of High School or GED is required.
    • Associate's degree in medical terminology or a related field is preferred.
    • Experience in a healthcare setting is desired.
