Position: Quality Coordinator III (AWS/CWI) โ€“ Construction
Location: 61 Lee Road 335, Salem AL, 36874 { Travel Required between Georgia project sites}

Duration: 3 Years

Position Overview

The Quality Coordinator III serves as a Site Construction Quality Coordinator supporting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Solar, and related utility construction projects across Georgia. This role provides on-site quality oversight to ensure contractor work complies with specifications, codes, and project standards.

Two regional assignments:

  • Macon Area:ย Wadley, Warner Robins, Dublin, Albany
  • Marietta Area:ย Cartersville, Newnan, Gainesville, Rome

The ideal candidate has strong weld inspection expertise, deep knowledge of construction quality standards, and the ability to operate independently across multiple job sites.


Key Responsibilities

Project Quality Oversight

  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project quality plans
  • Oversee onsite contractors to ensure work meets specifications and standards
  • Perform quality surveillances to verify compliance with codes and requirements
  • Develop and maintain surveillance schedules

Inspection & Compliance

  • Review and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Verify adherence to hold points and witness points
  • Conduct weld inspection and weld mapping
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • ASME
    • AWS
    • ANSI
    • ASTM
    • ACI
    • Other applicable industry standards

Documentation & Process Support

  • Assist in development of site-specific quality procedures and guidelines
  • Review quality documentation and inspection reports
  • Support preventative maintenance documentation
  • Participate in pre-bid, pre-mobilization, and contractor meetings to clarify quality expectations

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Support construction and project management in maintaining overall project quality
  • Communicate proactively with field teams and contractors
  • Function independently or within team environments

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in construction quality oversight
    OR
  • 4-year degree in related field + CWI/AWS certification
  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) / AWS certification required
  • Working knowledge of welding inspection standards and mapping
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards
  • Effective communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • AMPP / NACE certification
  • Experience supporting BESS or Solar construction projects
  • Utility-scale construction experience
