Clerical Supervisor 2

Become a driving force behind office excellence as a Clerical Supervisor 2 with the Department of Transportation (PennDOT)! In this role, you will support a hardworking clerical team that helps PennDOT deliver high quality service. Your leadership will keep important administrative tasks accurate, organized, and on track. This position plays a central role in supporting office operations, staff oversight, and personnel related tasks that keep the department running effectively. As a Clerical Supervisor 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Support: Provide helpful and polite service to internal and external customers
  • Personnel Processing: Manage employee records, updates, and transactions in an accurate and timely way
  • Staff Guidance: Offer direction, training, and oversight to clerical employees to support quality work
  • Work Coordination: Assign and review tasks to ensure office procedures are followed and deadlines are met
  • Record Maintenance: Oversee the creation, organization, and storage of personnel files and related documents
  • Payroll Oversight: Monitor payroll activities and identify or correct any discrepancies when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week, excluding holiday weeks. This will be after a 6-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Supervisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
