Job description

NU3S – CAFÉ, KITCHEN & CONVENIENCE STORE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: NU3S – Corner of Merrick blvdand Farmers blvd
Reports To: General Manager
Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 DOE + performance bonus.
About the Position

NU3S is looking for a hands-on Café, Kitchen & Convenience Store Operations Manager. This role serves as the General Manager's right hand, running the day-to-day across our Café, Kitchen, Beverage Program, and Convenience Store; icluding staff coordination, inventory, purchasing, product costing, POS administration, delivery platforms, order fulfillment, customer experience, and overall operating discipline.

If you are comfortable being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and building a team that runs like clockwork, this is your seat.

The ideal candidate has strong food-service or retail operations experience, good people-management skills, and the ability to quickly learn NU3S's technology platforms and operating systems.

What You'll Do

Lead the team. Coordinate schedules, run opening/closing, supervise baristas and kitchen staff, and jump in wherever you're needed during a rush.

Keep the café and kitchen running smooth. Oversee food quality, prep, presentation, and beverage standards — and make sure sanitation and food-safety practices are second nature to your team.

Run the convenience store like a business. Manage product mix, pricing, merchandising, and shelf availability — and find ways to grow sales and margins.

Own inventory and cost control. Track PAR levels, manage purchasing and vendor relationships, verify deliveries, and keep waste and shrinkage in check.

Master the tech. No experience with our systems — we will train you on POS, delivery platforms, and inventory tools. We're looking for someone comfortable picking up new technology and systems on the job.

Deliver a great customer experience, every time. Keep standards high, handle issues on the spot, and spot patterns before they become problems.

What We're Looking For
  • Management or supervisory experience in a café, QSR, restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store, or retail food environment
  • A track record of running schedules, managing a team, and keeping operations tight
  • Comfort with inventory, purchasing, and cost controls
  • Strong people skills — you can train, coach, and hold a team accountable
  • A quick learner who's comfortable picking up new systems and technology
  • Flexibility for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Bonus points for: Coffee/specialty beverage experience · kitchen or culinary background · retail merchandising · food & beverage costing · experience with delivery platforms or inventory-enabled POS systems · NYC food-service experience · food-safety certification

What Success Looks Like

Six months in, you'll know you're crushing it when:

  • Your team runs like a well-oiled machine, even when you're not in the building
  • Inventory, pricing, and product availability are always dialed in
  • Food and beverage quality is consistent, every shift
  • Waste and shrinkage are under control
  • Customer issues get resolved fast — before they become bigger problems
  • Your GM trusts you to handle it
