RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an AI Systems Developer III in Denver, CO.
Summary:
We are seeking a senior-level AI Systems Developer to design, build, and support enterprise AI solutions that improve business processes and user experiences. This individual will play a key role in developing scalable AI applications, integrating large language models into business systems, and contributing to technical architecture and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement AI-powered applications utilizing large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and agent-based workflows
* Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and backend components that support AI solutions in production environments
* Integrate AI technologies with internal applications, automation platforms, and business systems
* Improve model performance through prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, fine-tuning strategies, and retrieval optimization
* Partner with data teams to prepare and manage datasets used for training, testing, and inference
* Implement security controls, data governance standards, and responsible AI practices, including data protection and output validation
* Support CI/CD processes, containerized deployments, model versioning, monitoring, and operational readiness
* Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver long-term solutions
* Create technical documentation and mentor junior developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
* 4+ years of software development experience with strong Python expertise
* Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments
* Experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, agent frameworks, and AI orchestration tools
* Knowledge of APIs, microservices, SQL databases, cloud platforms, and container technologies
* Familiarity with AI security, governance, and compliance best practices
* Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
* Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and support
Preferred Skills:
* Advanced experience with model fine-tuning, multi-agent architectures, ML operations, and cloud-native AI services
* Industry certifications related to software development, cloud technologies, or artificial intelligence
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
