Position Summary:
The Property Process Architect Lead will be responsible for designing, mapping, and optimizing business processes for the property insurance line of business. Reporting to the Property COO, this highly visible role will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure all core processes-spanning underwriting, policy administration, claims, and customer service-are efficient, scalable, and aligned with company objectives. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in process architecture within commercial property insurance and a proven track record of driving process transformation.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, and implement best-in-class business processes for all key property insurance functions (underwriting, policy servicing, claims, loss control, etc.).
  • Assess current-state processes; identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Develop detailed process models, workflows, procedures, RACI matrices, and documentation to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, project managers, and IT to ensure process design supports strategic goals and system capabilities.
  • Lead process mapping and process redesign workshops with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Define process metrics and KPIs; establish process governance frameworks to enable ongoing management and continuous improvement.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technology platforms or tools, ensuring alignment with process requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for process escalation related to property operations.
  • Advise on process risk, compliance, and internal control issues, ensuring all process designs meet regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to process owners and front-line staff on process changes and best practices.
  • Contribute to a culture of operational excellence, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance customer experience and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Insurance, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in process architecture, business process management (BPM), operations, or consulting, with extensive background in commercial property insurance (property side experience required).
  • Proven expertise in process design, mapping, and process re-engineering within a complex, regulated environment.
  • Hands-on experience with process documentation tools
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong understanding of property insurance products, systems, workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Superior communication and facilitation abilities; proven experience leading workshops or cross-functional meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively with both executive stakeholders and operational teams.
  • High level of professionalism, strategic thinking, and a passion for operational excellence.
