Role Overview:

The mission of this position is to reinforce and advance RTM’s excellence in the building technology sys-tems field through effective client consultation and producing resultant design solutions for building sys-tems. This is predominantly a project-facing role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic structured cabling, wireless communications, audiovisual, and electronic security systems consulting to project stakeholders
  • Conduct basic user needs analysis and application of pertinent design standards
  • Develop and execute complete design of structured cabling, wireless communications, audiovisual, and electronic security systems
  • Coordinate with in-house and third-party mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineers and other design professionals
  • Support and administer design through construction contract administration (CCA) activities
  • Lead and mentor less experienced technology designers
  • Engage in design process, workflow, and production asset improvement
  • Periodically engage in project management for technology-only project scopes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in designing building technology systems from a variety of clients spanning a variety of vertical markets
  • College Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred
  • Professional / Industry Certifications – RCDD and/or CTS required
  • Preferred Manufacturer Certifications (Crestron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, Extron, etc.)
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of design of structured cabling, wireless communications, audiovisual, and electronic security systems
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of construction means and methods relating to structured cabling, wireless communications, audiovisual, and electronic security systems
  • Experience working with clients to consult on systems options and recommend systems solutions
  • Significant experience working with multi-discipline architectural teams to develop construction documents
  • Experience in managing workflow and deliverables for multiple projects to meet the demands of ongoing schedules
  • Experience with mentoring other technology designers
  • Experience working in multi-discipline, in-house teams
  • Experience in systems field troubleshooting

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is anticipated between 0-10%

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00
