About the Team & Role

The Futures Operations Manager will lead the day-to-day operational support for a retail broker-dealer’s futures and derivatives offering. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate trade processing, settlement support, reconciliations, operational controls, vendor coordination, and scalable client-service workflows.

The ideal candidate has strong retail brokerage operations experience and understands the customer lifecycle across trading, account activity, post-trade processing, exceptions, and regulatory operations. Experience supporting perpetual contracts (“perps”) and/or event contracts is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do
  • Trade Processing & Settlement Support: Oversee daily post-trade operational processes for futures and other derivatives products, including trade capture, allocations, confirmations, expirations, exercises, assignments, settlements, and exception management.
  • Reconciliation & Balancing: Manage daily trade, position, cash, fee, and account reconciliations across internal systems, executing brokers, clearing partners, exchanges, and vendors. Investigate, resolve, and document breaks in a timely manner.
  • Retail Brokerage Operations: Support the operational lifecycle for retail customer accounts, including account maintenance, transfers, corporate actions or product events where applicable, customer inquiries, and escalated service issues related to futures and derivatives activity.
  • Product Operations: Partner with Product, Trading, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to operationalize new products, features, and market access. Support launches, rule changes, exchange updates, and enhancements affecting retail derivatives customers.
  • Regulatory Operations: Ensure operations processes support applicable regulatory and exchange requirements. Coordinate documentation, data gathering, reporting support, and responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and internal reviews.
  • Operational Controls: Establish and maintain effective daily controls, escalation procedures, exception reporting, and operational documentation to promote accurate, timely, and consistent processing.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Identify manual processes, recurring operational issues, and workflow gaps. Develop and implement scalable procedures, automation opportunities, and service-level standards.
  • Client, Partner & Internal Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key operational contact for internal teams, executing and clearing partners, exchanges, vendors, and other external stakeholders to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Policies & Procedures: Create, maintain, and periodically review written supervisory procedures, operating procedures, control documentation, and training materials for futures and derivatives operations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in brokerage, trading, derivatives, settlement, clearing operations, or back-office operations. Experience supporting a retail broker-dealer, online brokerage, fintech, exchange, or clearing firm is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of retail brokerage operations and the trade lifecycle.
    • Familiarity with U.S. futures markets, exchange-traded derivatives, settlement processes, and post-trade operations.
    • Understanding of broker-dealer operational and regulatory requirements, including applicable FINRA, SEC, CFTC, NFA, and exchange rules.
    • Experience with brokerage operations platforms, trading systems, reconciliation tools, and operational reporting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and exception-management skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
    • Demonstrated people-management and team-development skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SQL, reporting tools, or workflow automation is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting retail futures, options, equities, crypto, or other multi-asset brokerage products.
  • Experience supporting perpetual contracts (“perps”), crypto derivatives, event contracts, prediction markets, or similar emerging products.
  • Experience with automated reconciliation, workflow, and operational-control solutions.
  • Experience supporting product launches, trading-system implementations, vendor integrations, or operational scalability initiatives.
  • FINRA Series 7 and/or Series 63 registrations, or ability to obtain required registrations after hire.
  • Series 3 license or ability to obtain, where required for the role.

Base pay for a successful applicant will depend on a variety of job‑related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is$125,000 - $165,000. This role is also eligible to participate in our discretionary bonus plan.
