Position: Distribution & Logistics Operations Manager

Reports To: General Manager - Operation

Location: Boulder, CO

Job Summary:

This role to oversee the daily operations of Giant's external and internal distribution facilities and domestic logistics. In this role, the Distribution & Logistics Operations Manager is tasked to manage and maintain a highly efficient and cost-effective distribution operation to meet business objectives. Overseeing and ensuring smooth distribution operation, inventory management, handling importation processes, and shipping processes while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity. The ideal candidate has extensive experience and knowledge in logistics and warehousing operations, a proven ability to optimize workflows and problem-solving and with strong leadership to lead the operation and distribution team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible in the operations of Giant’s external and self-operated distribution centers (DC).
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and dispatch operations to ensure smooth daily workflow through working closely with each distribution center manager and external partners.
  • Manage inventory control, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation with ERP systems and external reporting.
  • Working with custom partners and Giant’s supply team in managing importation process and minimize any disruption in product delivery.
  • Having strong communication and teamwork with Giant’s supply team to achieve smooth operation and minimize disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to ensure all outgoing shipments meet vendor compliance requirements.
  • Working with DC managers and external partners to optimize warehouse layout, storage, and space utilization to improve efficiency and cost control.
  • Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound transportation activities with freight carrier partners to ensure delivery time meets customer requirements.
  • Assist DC managers, Giant departments and other stakeholders in resolving distribution or logistic issues or problems.
  • Monitor all expenses associated with distribution and logistics activities and develop corrective or improvement strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to warehousing, shipping and safety protocols, etc.
  • Maintain facility condition, including equipment inspections and repair requisitions.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate operation and warehouse staffs, fostering a culture of excellent customer service, teamwork, safety, and productivity.
  • Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare and manage logistic/distribution annual budget, monitor department monthly expenditures versus budget, logistic/distribution contracts, insurance policies and implement corrective or improvement actions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Coordinate any exceptions such as recall, rework, or repacking with aim to resolve issues quickly.
  • Maintain and develop operation procedures related to logistics/distribution, logistics/distribution SOPs or any documents, to ensure delivery of excellent customer services.
  • Manage relationships with distribution, transportation providers, and other external partners.
  • Initiate continuous improvements to ensure the delivery of services and performances from the operation and distribution team fulfill the business vision and exceed customer expectations.


Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in logistics, importation, warehousing, or distribution management.
  • Proficiency with ERP system (Preferably Microsoft AX), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Office, Targit reporting, and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, generate reports, and develop strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership, verbal/written communication, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, high integrity, logical thinking and ability to adapt to change.
  • A team player and ability to build and maintain strong team, vendor and carrier relationships.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Certifications such as APICS, CLTD, LEAN, or PMP are an asset.
