This role will lead the Operations and Logistics function for Uniphar Global Sourcing within the North Carolina facility. The individual will be expected to continually drive innovation and efficiencies across operations, logistics, and facilities with a view to delivering an efficient, focused and dedicated warehouse-as-a-service to all Business Units operating within the facility. They should be aligned with the Global Operations team and collaborate with key group strategic projects both within the US and globally.


Key Skills & Experiences

  • Hold a degree in Supply Chain or Engineering or a related field
  • Have 10-15 years’ experience in a similar role within a fast paced, high volume, low margin and a highly regulated environment.
  • GMP/GxP experience is important.
  • Lean Six Sigma is highly desirable.
  • Data analytics and PowerBi experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with third‑party logistics (3PL) providers is highly desirable.
  • Be a high potential individual who is comfortable with autonomous work.
  • Have demonstrable experience of leading and developing successful teams.
  • Be highly flexible, resilient and comfortable working at a fast pace.
  • Have significant experience in driving transformation change and managing complexity.
  • Have an entrepreneurial flare with an innate ability to identify new opportunities.


Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support a cross-functional team in the day-to-day running of the warehouse across a multi-business unit operation.
  • Develop, maintain & report on-going operational KPI’s to all business units operating within the facility.
  • Drive operational excellence within the facility to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels that ensure all operational activities are performed effectively and capable of responding to fluctuating workloads.
  • Ensure that the appropriate systems, training, and processes are in place to maintain and improve on the delivery of a best-in-class service to the Business Units.
  • Work closely with the Commercial, Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure the highest operating standards across the infrastructure.
  • Implement processes and frameworks that foster creativity and ingenuity, whilst maximizing efficiency and productivity with a focus on sustainability.
  • Reduce operating costs by driving efficiencies and continuous process improvements across the Business Units.
  • Maintain ownership of annual budget together with adherence to approved budget spends to include Cap Ex, transport costs, payroll etc.
  • Manage the labor, transport, energy and facilities budgets within the facility as well as the management of key relationships with multiple GxP and non-GxP vendors.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Interpret the strategy of the business units and determine innovative solutions that will support strategy implementation.
  • Champion, develop and implement new operational initiatives that will reduce costs and increase competitiveness of the Business Units.


Operational Performance, Process Optimization & Continuous Improvements

  • Identify process and system gaps, lead and drive initiatives and efficiencies to include:
  • ASN, route and network planning.
  • System, process and transportation improvements.
  • Planning and implementation of Health & Safety system across the site.
  • Sustainability and ESG initiatives.
  • Oversee the optimization usage of current systems. Improve system usage effectiveness and reporting capability.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements


  • Mostly controlled but potentially varying internal environmental conditions, including temperature and noise changes within acceptable safety levels typical to a warehouse environment.
  • Work may involve long-term standing, sitting, and frequent walking throughout areas such as warehouses, re-packaging, or Engineering labs and navigating common hazards related to these areas.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 occasionally.
  • Must be able to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.
  • Weekend and overtime work may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
