How you create impact

As the Operations Manager you'll oversee daily warehouse operations, manage large teams, optimize resources, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and deliver exceptional service for our customers. If you thrive in a dynamic 3PL environment and enjoy developing people while improving processes.

  • Direct the operations of the warehouse personnel to achieve outlined objectives, organize daily meetings / regular communication to establish clear, ambitious and attainable goals across operations, quality and service, QSHE, profitability, etc.;
  • Develop and direct work plans to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times, including long range planning of labour needs based on customer sales forecasts and Management input;
  • Together with the Distribution Center Manager, establish and ensure the execution of operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and inventory accuracy, and driving active safety programs;
  • Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility and of all warehouse equipment, identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and together with the Distribution Centre Manager implement a "lean" culture;
  • Develop, implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property according to company policies and procedures, ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization, and monitor safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
  • Continuously assess, train, coach, mentor and develop personnel both informally and through formal training programs, provide job performance based feedback;
  • Together with the Site Quality Manager, drive QSHE implementation and compliance;
  • Ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met;
  • Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property;
  • Comply with GMP requirements as applicable to ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations;
  • Report operational issues and IT issues;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned in support of the development and execution of the company's Pharmaceutical / Healthcare strategy;

What we would like you to bring
  • 7+ years experience in Contract Logistics, 3PL, Distribution Centre, or Warehouse environment
  • 5+ years management experience in a high volume, fast paced distribution centre / warehouse environment
  • Dangerous Goods/GMP experience
  • Experience in organizing scale labour force for 50+ resources;
  • Knowledge of technical processes related to standard warehouse equipment and applications such as racking, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) systems and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety and employment standards legislation, and of common workplace hazards and associated controls (Bill C45)
  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (GxP, ISO, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, etc.);
  • Back end manufacturing logistics experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency inFrench and English (English-speaking clients
