Summary

The Supervisor, Operations is responsible for managing and developing assigned accounts within the road freight team, supporting growth and profitability objectives across the organization. The role also leads and supports team members to ensure high accuracy, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operational services are completed in line with agreed schedules and that administration is handled according to company guidelines
  • Motivate, guide, and coach team members to achieve targets and implement new processes effectively
  • Liaise with carriers and vendors to ensure service levels align with agreements and compliance requirements
  • Resolve queries and manage payables to ensure carrier contracts are paid within agreed terms
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and processes to improve service and drive growth
  • Analyze and improve systems (TMS) to enhance service levels
  • Monitor shipments using track and trace tools and manage internal quote requests
  • Coordinate with brokerage teams and government agencies to obtain customs releases as needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Negotiate carrier rates and secure additional trucking capacity in required markets
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Review financial figures against KPIs and budget, ensuring team productivity targets are met
  • Support the organization's commitment to quality and health & safety standards


Qualifications

  • 1–2 years minimum in a supervisory or team lead role
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry preferred
  • College diploma or university degree in Business, Logistics, or International Trade preferred
  • CIFFA designation an asset
  • Fluency in French and English
