About the role
The Culinary team at Recess Hotel & Club is looking for an experienced and dependable Breakfast Cook to join our opening team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced morning kitchen, takes pride in consistency, and knows how to start the day strong for our guests.
As part of the opening culinary team, you'll help establish the standards, rhythm, and culture of a brand-new kitchen while preparing high-quality breakfast and brunch dishes with care, speed, and attention to detail.
This is an onsite position located at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, Georgia.
If hired into this role, you will receive a $1,000 one-time sign-on bonus. Minimum tenure requirements apply.
What you'll do
  • Prepare and execute breakfast and brunch menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked breakfast station
  • Prepare eggs, breakfast proteins, griddle items, and other menu components with consistency and accuracy
  • Work efficiently through high-volume morning service while maintaining quality and timing standards
  • Support daily prep, food production, and proper storage of ingredients
  • Communicate prep needs, product levels, and 86'd items to Chefs and fellow cooks
  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience

Qualifications
  • Previous breakfast cook, line cook, brunch, hotel, or restaurant kitchen experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of breakfast cooking techniques, including eggs, griddle, and basic hot-line preparation
  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organized during busy morning service
  • Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and time-management skills
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and other physical movement required in a professional kitchen
