Billing Customer Service Representative
Location: Southwoods Executive Centre - Boardman, OH
Status: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Weekly rotation: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

As a Billing Customer Service Representative, you are the primary point of contact for our patients' financial inquiries. We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented individual who can deliver clear financial solutions while upholding our signature standard of "patient-first" care.
How You'll Make a Difference:
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming billing calls, providing courteous, empathetic, and timely resolutions to patient inquiries.
  • Financial Guidance: Educate patients on financial assistance programs, assist in establishing manageable payment plans, and process account adjustments or settlements in accordance with company policy.
  • Account Management: Proactively manage daily billing worklists, monitor delinquent accounts, and coordinate the formal review and submission of accounts to external collections when necessary.
  • Financial Assistance (HCAP) Coordination: Analyze and process Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP) applications based on Federal Poverty Guidelines, maintaining meticulous audit logs and ensuring strict document retention.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Systematically update patient billing records to maintain a clear documentation trail and ensure 100% compliance with all regulatory healthcare agencies.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Education & Experience: Training or coursework in business office activities and strong computer proficiency. Prior experience in a medical billing or healthcare customer service setting is highly preferred.
  • Medical Literacy: Foundational knowledge of medical terminology is required.
  • Expert Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills with a proven ability to handle complex financial conversations with empathy and professional de-escalation techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise prudent judgment and reasoning to resolve complex account discrepancies.
