Opportunity Overview
We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant (Back Office) to join our team at Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco Bay Area in Los Gatos, California. This position will float to our Menlo Park, California office.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with weekend and holiday rotations
  • Compensation: $26 to $29 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the Medical Assistant will:
  • Perform a high volume of phlebotomy
  • Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to the proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs and patient records
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
  • Assist physician or ultrasound technician with various procedure
  • Assist with HSGs as needed
  • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
  • Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
  • Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communicate physician orders and instructions
  • Provide pre and post-op education
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients' families
  • Support and promote excellence in customer service

Qualifications and Skills Include:
  • High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred
  • Completion of a formal MA or Phlebotomy program preferred
  • Minimum of one year of MA experience in a healthcare setting and familiarity with medical terminology
  • 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications; accuracy and speed with data entry is required
