Description of Work
The Esports/AV Manager is responsible for the operations of the Nebraska Union Esports Arena and computer and Audio/visual needs for the Nebraska Unions meeting and event spaces.
As the Esports/AV Manager oversees the Esports program at the Nebraska Union, this will include:
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Esports Arena operations, including long-term technology planning, student engagement strategies, and event development.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, performance evaluation, and discipline of the arena desk student staff.
  • Establish maintenance protocols, upgrade strategies, and budget recommendations to ensure high-functioning Esports and AV technology.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Nebraska Unions departmental AV, computer, and meeting room technology.
  • Coordinating events/parties/classes.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience troubleshooting hardware or software in a computer, audio, and/or visual environment.
  • Experience providing outstanding customer support/service.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and autonomously on tasks and projects.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities and duties.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of e-sports.
  • Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.

Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous audio/visual or Esports experience preferred.
