AV Product Line Manager

NETGEAR

San Jose, CA • On-site, Remote

$125K - $170K/yr

Full-time

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

NETGEAR Enterprise is looking for a driven, technically fluent Product Line Manager to own the strategy and execution of our AV-over-IP portfolio - switches, software, and management systems. You'll be the single-threaded leader for this domain, driving market research, product definition, feature prioritization, and cross-functional execution.
This is an individual-contributor role built for someone who wants outsized ownership. You'll partner with Hardware, Software, Industrial Design, Marketing, and Operations to build connectivity products used by customers across every AV vertical - from live events to broadcast to corporate AV.
We're looking for someone with 5+ years managing product development in AV-over-IP, Professional AV, or Broadcast AV, who's comfortable cutting through ambiguity and driving results under tight timelines.
This is a U.S.-based remote role, with a hybrid work option for candidates located near our San Jose headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
  • End-to-end ownership: Lead the AV Managed Switch & Pro AV portfolio from ideation and validation through launch and iteration.
  • Product strategy: Define the long-term vision, maintain a coherent roadmap, and set pricing and forecasting strategy - prioritizing with data, discipline, and judgment.
  • Requirements & trade-offs: Write high-quality PRDs, user stories, and functional specs; balance technical constraints against user needs.
  • Go-to-market readiness: Coordinate with marketing, manufacturing, sales, AV partner manufacturers, and support to land successful launches and feature rollouts.
  • Customer advocacy: Represent and reconcile the needs of engineering, channel partners, and global customers.
  • Technical collaboration: Shape technical architecture and contribute to engineering discussions on AV protocols, features, and integrations.
  • Executive communication: Present roadmap updates, product value, and results to executives and global functional leaders.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in AV-over-IP, networking devices, or management platforms.
  • A track record of shipping products in technically complex, UX-sensitive AV markets.
  • Strong writing skills - PRDs, user stories, MRDs, business cases.
  • Technical fluency in AV protocols, multicast, QoS, PTP, ST2110, device integration, and orchestration software.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and influence, including with Engineering, QA, and Marketing.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at a leading AV-over-IP company.
  • Background in network engineering, systems engineering, or UX for AV ecosystems.
  • MBA, CCNA, or CCNP a plus.
