Job description

Essential Duties
  • Review audio visual plans for potential clients/contractors to ensure successful events in the building.
  • Coordinate audio visual orders with in-house departments.
  • Organize the operation and maintenance of the Stadium video system, Daktronics system, and audio equipment (including turnaround with select operators).
  • Respond to queries from potential customers regarding A/V requirements.
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with applicable unions.
  • Monitor audio visual rigging in the building.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with audio visual unions; serve as the primary building contact for A/V requirements.
  • Travel as required and work a flexible schedule as necessary to include evenings/weekends and holidays.

As a Production Manager, you will work to orchestrate live events and productions by combining technical expertise with logistics. Key competencies include managing AV systems, technical troubleshooting, scheduling and client communication. The ability to work under pressure and maintain composure, prioritize tasks and make quick, accurate decisions under tight deadlines is necessary. Strong technical, multi-tasking and organizational skills plus the ability to establish active communication, work proactively and professionally engage with team members and clients is critical. Effective problem-solving and customer service skills with a commitment to excellence are essential. Excellent presentation, troubleshooting and decision-making skills are key.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of A/V technologies and systems.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of the convention and event/hospitality industry, audio-visual unions, sport stadiums and event production is required.
  • Experience with installing, maintaining and troubleshooting sound and video equipment.
  • Experience in managing complex projects associated with the A/V production and execution process.
  • Experience working with audio, lighting and video techs, stagehands and riggers.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills plus an analytical approach to problem solving. Ability to solve logistical and technical problems.
  • Ability to multi-task, lead and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Professional certification in Audio Visual technology or related courses is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Daktronics and digital message systems is preferred.
