Position Overview
Fori Automation is seeking an experienced Non-Automotive Account Manager to support and grow business with key non-automotive OEM & Tier I customers. This role will be based at Fori's Shelby Township, Michigan headquarters and will report directly to the Director of Business Development. The non-automotive Account Manager will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, supporting existing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets for assigned non-auto OEM & Tier I accounts. The ideal candidate will bring proven sales experience in the non-automotive industry, strong technical acumen in automation solutions, and the ability to manage complex customer programs from concept through hand-off. Approximately 50% travel is required.
Key Responsibilities
• Pursue and secure new business opportunities within assigned Tier I & OEM accounts.
• Support sales activities to achieve departmental targets for revenue growth and customer acquisition.
• Lead and participate in quoting activities, proposal development, and follow-up with customers.
• Identify and track new program launches, ensuring Fori solutions are positioned early in the opportunity cycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customer contacts at multiple levels of the organization.
• Generate and present technical concepts and proposals, including layouts, cycle time charts, and cost estimates.
• Prepare and deliver customer presentations, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial requirements.
• Benchmark commercial products, technologies, and strategies to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
• Serve as the technical and commercial interface with OEM & Tier I customers during the business development phase.
• Develop responses to RFQs and RFIs, ensuring best-in-class technical solutions and commercially competitive offers.
• Support negotiations within program sign-off limits under the guidance of the Director of Sales, Non-Automotive.
• Attend sales and marketing meetings, training sessions, and customer events as required.
• Complete accurate sales reports, forecasts, and opportunity tracking documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and program management teams to ensure a seamless hand-off of secured projects.
Required Qualifications
• Technical degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' technical sales or account management experience, preferably with non-automotive OEMs & Tier I's
• Existing relationships within non-automotive OEMs and Tier I's.
• Strong understanding of automation technologies incl. general assembly, material handling / AGVs, & custom automation.
• Demonstrated success in developing proposals and securing business with major non-automotive OEMs & Tier I's.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer programs simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
