Summary: The Account Manager plays a critical role in managing & growing key customer relationships. This position is responsible for overseeing commercial activities, ensuring customer satisfaction, & driving revenue growth through strategic account management & coordination with internal teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned automotive accounts, fostering strong relationships & ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Lead the preparation & submission of quotations, manage pricing files, & ensure alignment with customer expectations & internal profitability goals.
  • Review production contracts, resolve discrepancies, & ensure proper documentation & record retention.
  • Oversee customer prototype orders, including engineering design & development, invoicing, & delivery tracking.
  • Contribute to sales forecasts, acquisition plans, & reporting activities such as strategic account reviews & board-level presentations.
  • Utilize customer engineering change control systems to access & manage engineering change orders.
  • Coordinate order processing & monitor delivery status to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Support recovery of past due balances through proactive communication & collaboration with finance teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, & operations to support customer programs & internal initiatives.
  • Prepare materials for customer & internal meetings, lead discussions, & follow up on action items.
  • Maintain accurate customer records in systems such as AS400 & Future III, including shipping information & pricing.
  • Provide support for service channels as needed.

Work Environment:
  • This role may require occasional travel to customer sites & industry events

General:
  • Supports advanced engineering initiatives & collaborates with R&D teams.
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, industry standards & regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors & reports on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications
Qualifications:
To perform this role successfully, the candidate should demonstrate:
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities & work independently.
  • High level of discretion & professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards & practices is a plus

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management within the automotive industry, preferably with Ford
