**Job Title: In-Home Autism Respite Support (Emotional/Behavioral)**

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home Autism Respite Support Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing emotional and behavioral support to individuals with autism within their home environment. Our ideal candidate is patient, empathetic, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families.


**This is a Part-Time position. Total hours are variable and coordinated based on client needs and staff availability, offering a highly flexible schedule. Primary service hours align with after-school (afternoon/evenings) and weekends with expanded schedules during school breaks/summer.**

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Implement personalized support tailored to the emotional and behavioral needs of clients.
- Apply effective strategies to manage and support emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with family members and Care Team to develop and maintain consistent care approaches, note progress and areas for growth, adapting as needed.
- Engage individuals in activities that foster development in goals and needs.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Provide regular feedback and documentation of progress and any behavioral or emotional changes.
- Stay informed of best practices and advances in autism support and care.

- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals by following established protocols, developing strategies, and adapting in the moment as needed.

- Continuously update skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience working with individuals with autism, particularly in managing emotional and behavioral needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and collected in challenging situations.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain.
- The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations and needs of the individuals supported.

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward care and support.

- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and resources.

- Must be able to pass a background check and possess a valid driverโ€™s license.
