 Overview:


The Associate Technical Designer will support the seasonal design and merchandising process by contributing technical designs for in-category styles to ensure on-budget and on-time delivery of garments.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Measure and prepare samples before all fit sessions and record comments to ensure final fit, quality and construction meet all standards
  • Work closely with Sourcing and Design to execute the Time and Action calendar and manage the sample approval process
  • Communicate with overseas factories and vendors to ensure all styles, fits, construction and specs meet the standards for costing and appropriateness for brand
  • Track fit and pre-production samples
  • Partner with Production and Quality Assurance teams to carry out quality assurance protocols to identify issues and suggest solutions
  • Special projects as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction and patternmaking
  • 1+ years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant Technical Designer (children's wear experience a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim
