Job description

Construction QA/QC Manager (EPC) — The Owner's Eyes on Every Weld and Pour

McCarran, NV | Full-Time | $110,000 – $145,000

The Opportunity

On a fast-moving industrial megaproject, quality is where reputations are made — and you'll own it. Our client, a rapidly scaling clean energy innovator with an in-house EPC team, is hiring a Construction QA/QC Manager to serve as the owner's quality representative across battery materials manufacturing construction. You'll engage from design onward — setting hold points, building inspection plans, leading inspectors — so quality is built in, not inspected in after the fact.

Why You'll Love It

  • Owner's-side authority: You represent the owner, not a sub — your findings drive real decisions
  • Full-lifecycle involvement: Design reviews through construction, turnover, and system verification
  • Team leadership: Direct internal inspectors, QC coordinators, and third-party agencies
  • Nevada advantage: No state income tax, Reno-Tahoe living

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop the project QA/QC function — internal inspectors, QC coordinators, third-party inspection personnel
  • Review drawings and specs during design to flag constructability concerns, hold points, and quality requirements before ground breaks
  • Develop project-specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and schedule third-party special inspections (structural steel, welding, concrete, fireproofing)
  • Contract and manage third-party inspection agencies — scopes, qualifications, schedules
  • Perform daily site walks; document risks, discrepancies, and non-conformances
  • Verify completed systems against design specs and contract documents
  • Audit quality turnover documentation — MTRs, weld maps and logs, PWHT and NDT reports, concrete placement records, bolt tensioning records
  • Track and report quality metrics and non-conformance trends to project leadership

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's in engineering, construction management, or related field (or Associate's/technical diploma with significant field experience)
  • 8–10+ years in construction QA/QC or inspection, including supervising QA/QC personnel
  • Current CWI certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and AWS D1.1
  • Fluency reading civil, structural, mechanical, and piping drawings; ITP development/execution experience
  • Valid driver's license; strong organizational and communication skills
  • Preferred: 10+ years in industrial/heavy commercial QA/QC, Level II NDT certs (MT, PT, UT), Autodesk Construction Cloud/CXAlloy experience, IBC/OSHA/NFPA code training, experience scaling QA/QC programs across concurrent projects

Quality is your signature. Sign the biggest project of your career. Apply now.
