Job description

Role Summary

Free People is looking for a Associate technical designer in Soft Woven's who will be responsible for assisting The Technical Design Associate manager in all aspects of style development including measuring samples,  assisting with setup of initial tech packs, 3D and digital fits and pattern corrections, physical sample fittings, TOP approvals. 3D experience is a plus.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assists in style development working closely with manager to learn calendar, construction and fit standards.
  • An individual contributor supporting senior level Technical Designer(s).
  • Must have some pattern making/pattern alteration experience and will attend continuiong training in Clo, Ai and any other digital programs as specified.
  • Communicates clearly with managers, coworkers, cross functional partners and factories.
  • Clearly communicates progress on individual tasks to supervisor.
  • Listens actively and asks questions that appropriately show understanding.
  • Introduction to global communication via fit comments, email, and zoom meetings and vendor visit meetings.
Role Qualifications
  • Familiar with live fittings, both physical and digital. 
  • Fast paced learner who can quickly grow and feel comfortable with facilitating digitial and/or physical fits.
  • Learn role responsiblities of different teams and best practices for communication cross functionally.
  • Support supervisor in projects as assigned.
  • Must be extremely flexible and adaptable to work with fast paced calendars, ability to juggle working with multiple cross functional teams.
  • Takes feedback well and adjusts actions accordingly.
  • Exposure to Clo/3D for reviewing fit/pattern corrections.
