Job description

Proposal Writer - Carelon Rx

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.

The Proposal Writer is responsible for leading and supporting the development of high-quality, compliant, and compelling responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and related requests.

How you will make an impact:

  • Creates standard proposal responses leveraging the core content repository; develops written solutions using best practices, brand standards, innovative ideas, and reviewer insights.
  • Aligns written communication efforts with overall company messaging, goals, and RFP requirements.
  • Reviews RFP/RFI documents to identify key requirements and ensure responses align with submission guidelines and compliance standards.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-functional stakeholders to gather input and translate technical or operational information into client-focused responses.
  • Supports coordination of response timelines and incorporates reviewer feedback into final deliverables.
  • Serves as a communications resource for business leaders and collaborates across various areas to support enterprise-wide selling initiatives, including partnership with senior writers on more complex responses.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of health care specific proposal writing experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Proposal experience at a Prescription Benefit Manager (PBM)
  • Experience working with Responsive Proposal Software
  • Experience interacting confidently with key stakeholders and comfortable with influencing decision-making
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to meet aggressive submission deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)

For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $81,648 to $134,136
