Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for a material planner to manage inventories and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedule. The material planner's responsibilities include creating purchase requisitions, maintaining inventory schedules, coordinating with internal departments and managing external stakeholder relations. A successful Material Planner should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery. 

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzing and release of supply and demand signals in support of production contracts
  • Item attribute maintenance in support of make/buy execution
  • Cross-functional collaboration and communication in support of business needs
  • Support business processes to ensure material availability in support of production schedule
  • Perform material investigations and other related activities as necessary
  • Support EAC process
  • Communication across multiple departments and various audiences
  • Lean six sigma and continuous improvement efforts
  • Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.
  • Ensuring materials meet specifications quality standards and are cost-efficient.
  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
  • Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timeliness, supplier payments, etc.
  • Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
  • Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
  • Preparing cost estimates and performance reports.

Qualifications:

  • Requires practical knowledge of job area. Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
