OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

The Associate Producer will assist newscasts in many ways including day-to-day pre-production tasks including story pitches and development, research and script writing, assisting in the control room, as well as post-production tasks including social video editing and graphics production. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following duties.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Writes stories for broadcast, web and social as assigned.

  • Creates graphics and other preproduction elements.

  • Views video and chooses sound.

  • Acts as liaison to Reporters in the field by providing research and material as requested.

  • Fills in for Producers as assigned.

  • Stays informed of current news, actively gathering information online and in partnership with the assignment desk.

  • Reports to work to assist with Newscasts outside the normal work schedule at times of severe weather conditions and/or breaking news.

  • Meets all scheduling and content deadlines.

  • Attends and participates in all scheduled meetings.

  • Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.

  • Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements.

  • Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under daily pressure and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Education and Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

  • Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
