Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you a fast-paced news writer and digital storyteller ready to make an impact in a premier Top 10 market? FOX 5 Atlanta is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Associate Producer to join our news team.

In this role, you will be in the center of the action-writing stories, building visual graphics, coordinating live field coverage, and distributing content across our linear broadcast, streaming, website, and social media platforms. What You'll Do

You will work directly with Producers, field crews, and digital teams to power our multi-platform news coverage.

  • Broadcast & Streaming Writing: Craft clean, conversational scripts and build dynamic graphic elements for daily newscasts and streaming broadcasts on tight deadlines.

  • Control Room & Live Execution: Assist in the control room during live newscasts, coordinating live shots, field talk-backs, and breaking news coverage.

  • Digital & Social Publishing: Create and adapt news content for mobile, web (Spark CMS), and social platforms to engage our digital audience.

  • Field & Crew Coordination: Support field communications, schedule interviews, and organize package shoots as needed.

  • Real-Time Collaboration: Work on-site at our station to ensure seamless integration with our news, production, and digital teams.

What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for a collaborative team player with sharp news judgment and strong language skills.

  • Copywriting Mastery: Proven skill in writing conversational broadcast copy with visual storytelling elements under daily deadline pressure.

  • Grammar & Precision: Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Technical Savvy: Experience with (or quick ability to learn) newsroom systems including iNews, BitCentral, Chyron LUCI/Axis, Spark CMS, and Slack.

  • Communication: Clear, effective, and polite communication skills when interacting with news sources, field crews, and the public.

  • Operational Agility: A flexible mindset ready to adapt to breaking news and shifting station priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Experience: One (1) year of producing or newsgathering experience at a commercial television station is preferred.

  • Video Editing: Experience editing video segments for broadcast is a strong plus.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
